After Miko’s background in the previous episode, episode 5 of Mieruko-chan continues in the old style. But, we also get a chance to see just how kind Miko is.
Warning: This Section Might Contain Spoilers.
We all know that Miko pretends that she can’t see the ghosts around her. She’s been doing this since the first episode of the series, but in this episode, she manages to get acquainted with Yuria, who also has a supernatural ability. Miko tries to protect Yuria from a ghost but accidentally hurts her in the process. Of course, Miko takes the blame and embraces the solitude she’s feeling because she is the only one who knows their situation.
Miko talks to herself after the incident and you could really feel that Miko was willing to do anything to protect Yuria, even if it means loneliness for her. Here, I can conclude that Miko is really a kind-hearted person.
There are times that Miko’s ability becomes really handy, like what happened in this episode 5 of Mieruko-chan. While walking on the road, Miko met an old woman who seems to have a problem with her memory. Since Mikos is a good girl, she helps the woman find her home. There, a ghost suddenly appears and tells them random numbers. Miko passed the number message to the old woman and because of it, she came to her senses and it seems that her memory also came back to normal. This is a very touching scene because the ghost expressed its gratitude towards Miko, which made her happy.
Each episode of Mieruko-chan manages to warm up your heart. Miko is really thoughtful to everyone, humans or not. The episode ended with Miko seeing a familiar ghost get eaten by another, and it seems that it is a hint to one of the mysteries that she needs to unravel in the future.
If you are also curious about why that particular scene happened, episode 6 will air on November 7, 2021, and you can watch it on Funimation. Lastly, if Miko’s deeds in episode 5 of Mieruko-chan made you want to sympathize with her, you can vote for the anime on our weekly poll.
A normal girl was living a normal life-until she wasn’t.
One day, she could see…everything. What’s a girl to do when hideous monsters appear no matter which way she turns?
And on top of that, nobody else can see them!Obviously, there’s only one thing that makes sense-ignore them.
Kinda hard to put theory into practice, though, whenthe ghosts know she’s watching…Yen Press
