Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid is a popular manga series written and illustrated by Coolkyousinnjya. The series began serialization in 2013 and originally ran in Monthly Action, a manga magazine published by Futabasha. After the magazine’s discontinuation in 2024, the series transitioned to Manga Action.
A video game titled Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid: Burst Forth!! Choro-gon Breath was released in Japan in March 2022, with Aksys Games releasing it in North America in August 2022.
Kyoto Animation first adapted Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid into an anime in 2017, with Yasuhiro Takemoto serving as director. The second season, Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid S, aired in 2021 with Tatsuya Ishihara directing. Takemoto was credited posthumously, having passed away in the 2019 arson attack.
The second season was voted as the Best Anime of the Season for Summer 2021.
