The previously announced Murai in Love anime, which has been confirmed to premiere in October 2024, has released a new visual and trailer. Additional cast members were also announced. Studio J.C. Staff is animating the series, which will stream exclusively on Disney+.
Yoshinobu Yamakawa will be directing the series while Susumu Yamakawa will be handling the series composition and screenplay. Ruka Kawada is composing the music. The updated cast members of the Murai in Love anime include:

- Nobunaga Shimazaki as Hitotose
- Kohei Amasaki as Kiriyama
- Haruki Ishiya as Hirai
- Masaya Matsukaze as Yamakado

Murai in Love is based on the manga written and illustrated by Junta Shima. It was first launched in LINE’s manga service under Kadokawa’s Gene Line label in June 2018. The manga came to an end in June 2022 and published a total of seven volumes. An eight-episode television drama adaptation was released on TBS from April 6 to May 25, 2022. It featured Hikaru Takahashi as Ayano Takana, Ryubi Miyase as Murai Hitotose, and Ryosuke Sota as Shinri Hirai. The anime adaptation of Murai in Love was announced in June 2022.
Murai in Love follows Murai, a shy high schooler who is often invisible, has long hair, and is not someone you would consider exceptionally beautiful. One day, he confesses to a girl he loves, but gets turned down because she only has eyes for her games. However, the next morning, Murai wakes up and decides to change things up. He shows up looking like a completely different person with short dyed hair and clothes resembling Tanaka’s favorite character. All these things to win Tanaka over, but will he succeed?
