Mushoku Tensei “Turning Point 4” Revealed as Title of Season 3 Episode 11

Mushoku Tensei Season 3 has officially confirmed “Turning Point 4” as the title of its upcoming episode, Episode 11. As the name suggests, it means a turning point for Rudeus, and the previous episodes were all some of the most important ones in the anime. The new episode will premiere next Sunday on September 6.

Here’s a reminder of what happened in the previous “Turning Point” episodes.

“Turning Point 1” – Mushoku Tensei Season 1 Episode 11

In the first “Turning Point” episode, Mushoku Tensei Season 1 Episode 11, the teleportation incident happened. Prior to that, we saw Rudy celebrate his 10th birthday, make his promise with Eris, as well as numerous important character appearances. This was the episode where Kishirika Kishirisu, Orsted, Perugius Dola, and Almanfi appeared for the first time, although only Almanfi was named at the time.

At the end of the episode, we saw the incident that threw Rudy onto the Demon Continent, separating him from Sylphie and his family until much later in the anime. After the episode, Mushoku Tensei topped our weekly ranking in Winter 2021 Week 9, ranking above Attack on Titan and JUJUTSU KAISEN.

“Turning Point 2” – Mushoku Tensei Season 1 Episode 21

Mushoku Tensei Season 1 Episode 21 was the second “Turning Point” episode, and it brought about Rudy’s encounter with Dragon God Orsted. This is widely considered as one of the best episodes of the anime so far due to the quality of the battle with Orsted. The character appears randomly and immediately causes tension with Eris and Ruijerd sensing the danger.

Rudy, as we later learn is due to a curse that doesn’t affect him, does not fear the Dragon God and carelessly ends up mentioning the name of Man-God. Man-God later explains that Orsted is cursed to be feared and hated by every person in the world, but it does not seem to affect otherworlders. He also says that he is the strongest and that he could even win against Laplace if he seriously tried.

This is also the episode where Nanahoshi was introduced. She is the one who ends up saving Rudy’s life, likely due to realizing that he also might be an otherworlder. After the episode, Mushoku Tensei topped our weekly ranking in Fall 2021 Week 10, ranking above Demon Slayer and 86 EIGHTY-SIX.

“Turning Point 3” – Mushoku Tensei Season 2 Episode 18

The third and last “Turning Point” episode we’ve seen so far was Mushoku Tensei Season 3 Episode 18. Just like with the previous two, this episode also had major events for Rudy, although it was more of a setup for the upcoming reunion with Roxy and fight to save Paul which came later on.

First, the episode starts with things going well. Nanahoshi is moving on with her research, Cliff is making progress with the item to help Elinalise, and Zanoba created his first figure and gifted it to Julie.

Everything seems to be going up for Rudy, and this culminates in Sylphie telling him she’s pregnant with their first child. After an emotional moment between the two, they look forward to telling the others about it, commenting how Paul will be shocked to learn the news.

As Rudy comments that the paradise he dreamed of is right around the corner, the episode twists into what we’ve come to expect from its turning points with a letter from Geese.

“Zenith’s rescue difficult. Send help.”

This leads to Rudy setting out to help save Zenith, missing the birth of Lucy. It also lead to Paul’s eventual death and Rudy’s following trauma, as well as Roxy’s reappearance. Following the episode, Mushoku Tensei ranked third in Spring 2024 Week 6.

The anime is based on a light novel by Rifujin na Magonote with Shirotaka’s illustrations. Seven Seas is publishing the light novel in English.
