My Status as an Assassin Obviously Exceeds the Hero’s anime revealed the main trailer featuring the opening song, along with three new cast members. The anime was previously confirmed to premiere in October 2025, with studio SUNRISE handling the animation.
The main voice cast for the My Status as an Assassin Obviously Exceeds the Hero’s anime includes:
- Takeo Otsuka as Akira Oda
- Saku Mizuno as Amelia Rosequart
The new additions are:
- Sanae Kobayashi as Yoru, a magical beast in the form of a black cat.
- Konomi Tamura as Lia Lagoon, a mysterious girl who knows the secret behind the summoning of the protagonists into another world.
- Junichi Suwabe as Saran Mislei, the commander of the Knights of the Kingdom of Reitis, which summoned the protagonist Akira.
You can hear the new cast in the trailer below, along with the opening theme “Issen” (Flash) by the virtual girls’ duo VESPERBELL.

Matsuri Akai writes the My Status as an Assassin Obviously Exceeds the Hero’s (Asashin de Aru no Sutetasu ga Yusha Yori mo Akiraka ni Tsuyoi Nodaga) light novel series, which features illustrations by Tozai. It began as a web novel by Akai n January 2017, while Overlap began publishing the series under its Overlap Bunko imprint after acquiring it in November 2017. There is also a manga adaptation by Hiroyuki Aigamo.
Seven Seas Entertainment licensed both light novel and manga in English, describing the former:
