Naoko Yamada’s upcoming short anime movie, Garden of Remembrance, revealed the main trailer, along with an August 30 release date. The movie will be available in Japan on Hulu, ABEMA, dAnime Store, U-NEXT, Anime Hodai, and more platforms.
Yamada directed the movie at Science SARU, and it has a runtime of 18 minutes. It was previously screened at Scotland Loves Anime and Annecy International Animation Film Festival.
The short movie previously revealed a teaser trailer and main visual.
The movie was announced in 2022. Besides directing, Naoko Yamada is also the screenwriter, with Etsuko Mizusawa as the character designer, Moaang as the animation director and Lovely Summer Chan as the music composer. Avex Pictures is producing the anime movie.
Naoko Yamada and Science SARU are also working on the upcoming The Colors Within movie, which will premiere in Japan on August 30. Her first work with Science SARU was The Heike Story. It was also her work at a studio other than Kyoto Animation, which is where she acquired the status of a legend. Some of her most notable works were K-On!, Tamako Market, and A Silent Voice.
