New Holo Figure Promises Bountiful Harvests

Being a merchant may be difficult today. But being a merchant in the days of old was like playing a game in its most difficult setting. Back then, you didn’t have the internet or current information to judge what you should invest in. Picking out things to sell, even with the best information, was a gamble. But if you were a merchant like Lawrence and you had a DMM Factory’s Holo Dress Shirt figure, you could reap the profits all the way into an early retirement. Based on an original illustration, the figure features Holo the Wise Wolf in a baggy dress shirt with a beckoning expression, a semi-relaxed tail, and her right arm brought up towards her face.

Ordering one of the kawaii figures will cost you ¥25,300 (about $175). However, since the pre-order period is open until October 16, you have more than enough time to find a business partner to fund your purchases. The DMM Factory Holo Dress Shirt figure features paintwork by Shinya Suzuki, is sculpted by BBJ, and is expected to ship in August 2025, which may be a long wait. But say you’re in good health and exercising, and the probability of living until August of next year is in your favor. Would you rather welcome September 2025 with a kawaii Holo figure, or would you rather go into the fall Holo-less?

Spice and Wolf: Merchant Meets Wise Wolf, the Studio Passione animated Spice and Wolf remake, is streaming on Crunchyroll. The first season of the original anime, which was animated by Studio Imagin, aired as part of the Winter 2008 anime season. Its sequel aired as part of the 2009 Summer anime season and was animated by Marvy Jack and Brain’s Base.

Based on the light novel by Isuna Hasekura (illustrated by Jyuu Ayakura), Spice and Wolf: Merchant Meets Wise Wolf tells the story of Lawrence Craft, a traveling merchant who embodies the phrase “being at the right place at the right time.” One day, to his luck, he passes by the pagan village of Pasloe, where, unknown to him, he picks up the oddest of traveling companions, a harvest god named Holo. As he promises to take her to her home, the two travel together, and as they revel in all the sights the world has to offer, the bond between them grows faster than the wheat that Holo once inhabited.
