Nike x Yu-Gi-Oh! Anime Collaboration Announced

The Yu-Gi-Oh! anime series will collaborate with global apparel brand Nike, as confirmed in a posting to the official Yu-Gi-Oh! Japanese website. “Collaboration between anime ‘Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters’ and NIKE confirmed!” reads the announcement, posted on July 24. “It’s time to duel!! A collaboration between the anime ‘Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters’ and NIKE has been confirmed! More details will be announced at a later date! Stay tuned for more information!

Nike and Yu-Gi-Oh! collaboration teaser

Nothing further has been revealed officially, except for the visual above. Nike has previously collaborated with anime series such as Slam Dunk, Gundam, and Naruto, and released an anime short last year as part of its partnership with fashion designer Nigo. You can check it out below:

This collaboration follows Nike’s Naruto x Zion 1 sneakers, as well as collaborations by other major footwear makers with popular anime, such as Crocs’ Demon Slayer, Jujutsu Kaisen, and Dragon Ball Z clogs, and Converse’s Naruto Shippuden sneakers.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters (2000–2004) is the second anime adaptation of the late Kazuki Takahashi’s manga series, published in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. Kunihisa Sugishima directed the series at Studio Gallop. The anime is available to stream for free on Pluto TV and Hoopla in the United States. The latter describes it:
Yu-Gi-Oh! follows the adventures of high school student Yugi, who has a magical secret that comes to life when he plays his favorite card game: ‘Duel Monsters.’
