EDIT: Adult Swim senior vice-president Jason DeMarco has since said via BlueSky that Ninja Kamui Season 2 has not been announced. Sola Entertainment, which produced Season 1, previously confirmed the second season in a now-deleted press release.
Adult Swim and MAX’s popular Ninja Kamui anime will receive a Season 2 and a new game. Via Business Wire, Rainmaker Productions and Sola Entertainment – which also produced Ninja Kamui Season 1 – showcased their new prequel game NINJA KAMUI: SHINOBI ORIGINS, which sees players, “race against the clock as you slash and shoot your way through hordes of henchmen and deadly ninjas as Tsukumo. The adventure begins as you uncover a sinister plot by AUZA to massacre his old ninja allies. Armed with his sword and ‘TYPE 0‘ boost gear, Tsukumo faces off against a cast of brutal ninja assassins – many of whom are from the NINJA KAMUI anime.“
Developed by G.rev, Ninja Kamui: Shinobi Origins is already available on Nintendo Switch for $24.99. Ninja Kamui fans also learned that the series was the “most viewed anime ever in the history of both Adult Swim & MAX,” according to Joseph Chou, CEO of Sola Entertainment. He continued, “We hope this game will continue to entertain the fans around the world while we work on Season 2 of the anime. BE THE NINJA!” Fans can visit the game’s website for more information.
Ninja Kamui was first announced in 2022 and was released on Adult Swim’s Toonami block across 13 episodes from February to May 2024. The series was directed by Jujutsu Kaisen Season 1 director Sunghoo Park, with animation by E&H Production, screenplay by Shigeru Murakoshi, and music from R.O.N. Ninja Kamui Season 2’s announcement may not come as a surprise to some; Adult Swim vice president Jason DeMarco previously revealed that Cartoon Network and MAX were “thrilled” with Season 1 and Toonami’s ratings generally.
Ninja Kamui Season 2 currently has no confirmed release date. The series is described:
A former ninja clan member’s search for vengeance unites him with the FBI agents investigating the murder of his wife and son.
