The staff of Non Non Biyori has set out to release an original anime titled Hibi wa Sugiredo Meshi Umashi (Food for the Soul). Additionally, a 15-second teaser trailer was released along with a teaser visual. The character Kawai Mako’s voice can be heard on the trailer but the voice cast hasn’t been announced yet. The anime is slated to premiere in 2025.
Shinya Kawatsura (Non Non Biyori) and Yu Harumi (The Quintessential Quintuplets the Movie) are directing together the new anime at studio P.A. Works (Shirobako). Hajime Mitsuda (Kiratto Pri☆Chan) is adapting Atto’s character designs for the anime and also serves as the chief animation director. Yoshihiro Hiki (Akiba Maid War) is overseeing the series scripts. Takeshi Takadera (Oshi no Ko) is credited as the sound director while Hiromi Mizutani (Non Non Biyori) is composing the music.
Quoro (Asteroid in Love) is illustrating the manga adaptation, set to debut on Kadokawa’s Alive+ website in 2025. Non Non Biyori creator Atto is handling the original character designs and story concepts, as well as providing storyboard layouts for the tie-in manga. Non Non Biyori is a manga series written and illustrated by Atto. A 12-episode anime adaptation by Silver Link premiered in October 2013. The second season started airing in September 2015 while an anime film debuted in August 2018. The anime also received a third season that ran from January to March 2021.
