ONIMAI: I’m Now Your Sister released preview images and a trailer for episode 2 along with a synopsis. The broadcast is set for January 12, 2023. Studio Bind is animating the adaptation, which has been airing since January 5.
The second episode is titled “Mahiro to Onnna no Ko no Hi“, which translates into “Mahiro and Period.” Having been puzzled by a sudden change in his life, the protagonist Mahiro Oyama (Marika Kono) starts to grasp how to enjoy being a girl little by little. One day, he decides to regain his manliness and works out to build muscle. But he can’t lift his body at all and ends up feeling pain in his stomach. His sister Mihari Oyama (Kaori Ishihara) is worried about his worsening condition, and she realizes something, which is related to the fact that one month passed since Mahiro turned into a girl.
The brother and sister, Mahiro and Mihari are talking about “an anime” in the preview trailer, for which the manga’s author Nekotofu wrote the script.
ONIMAI: I’m Now Your Sister! anime is being produced based on Nekotofu’s manga of the same name. The creator originally launched the series under his solo doujin group GRINP. Kodansha’s subsidiary company Ichijinsha picked it and published the first compiled volume as the commercial edition in June 2018. The series has also been serialized on the company’s Monthly Comic REX since April 2019. The latest, 7th, volume was released on January 7, 2023, along with the 3rd volume of the manga’s anthology.
Kodansha USA is publishing the manga in English and the 6th volume was digitally released in October 2022. The official website describes the plot of the series as:
Mahiro Oyama was just a normal erotic-game loving dude…until he woke up one morning as a woman! Turns out his mad-scientist little sister, Mihari, tried out one of her new experiments on him…with a disastrous outcome, as far as Mahiro’s concerned! But Mihari is as determined to study him as he is determined to go back to his shut-in, game-playing life, and one thing’s for sure…life is going to get a whole lot weirder from here on out!
