Overlord: The Sacred Kingdom movie is crowning its successful run with a Blu-ray and DVD release, slated for March 26, 2025. The Limited Blu-ray Edition, priced at 14,300 yen, features a digipack with illustrations by character designer Satoshi Tasaki, a reprint of both volumes of The Phantom Ship of Katze Plains written by Kugane Maruyama and illustrated by so-bin, an abridged staff collection, an abridged collection of selected storyboards, complete setting materials for the movie, special soundtrack CD, video extras, audio commentary, promotional videos and trailers, theater etiquette videos, and commercial collection.
The Standard Edition comes in both Blu-ray and DVD versions and costs 6,600 yen. In addition to the movie, it features bonus footage, which includes audio commentary, promotional videos, previews, theater etiquette videos, and commercial collection.
As is often the case with Japanese Blu-ray releases, fans can get various perks depending on which store they buy the products from. For those who pre-order the Limited Edition, so-bin prepared a new illustration which will be featured on a B5 canvas and given out while supplies last:
The third movie in the Overlord franchise adapted Volumes 12-13 of the light novel. The arc was not included in the fourth season but events from it should have taken place around the 8th episode. The first two movies are recaps of the first and second seasons of the anime. Naoyuki Ito directed the movie at the studio MADHOUSE, with Satoshi Tasaki as the character designer and chief animation director. Yukie Sugawara is working on the script. Shuji Katayama is composing the music. Overlord: The Sacred Kingdom movie will see the return of OxT with a new theme song “WHEELER-DEALER”:
