Patlabor EZY anime is set to air in 2026, the first major information about the project since it was first announced in 2017. Studio J.C.STAFF is animating, with GAZEN doing the CG production and GENCO overseeing the overall production. The format of the work has not been specified.
Yutaka Izubuchi is in charge of the direction, with Kazunori Ito doing both the composition and scriptwriting. Takamitsu Sato will serve as the chief animation director and character designer, basing off of original design by Masami Yuki. The rest of the staff includes:

Patlabor EZY is the latest project from the Patlabor mecha media franchise created by Headgear, a group consisting of manga artist Masami Yuki, director Mamoru Oshii, screenwriter Kazunori Ito, mecha designer Yutaka Izubuchi, and character designer Akemi Takada. The first manga of the franchise was serialized by the Weekly Shonen Sunday from March 1988 to May 1994 for 22 volumes.
It also has multiple other anime adaptations, including Mobile Police Patlabor (1988), Patlabor: The TV Series (1989), and Patlabor: The New Files (1990). There are also several anime movies, including Patlabor: The Movie (1989), Patlabor 2: The Movie (1993), and WXIII: Patlabor the Movie 3 (2002), as well as the 2016 short animated film Kido Keisatsu Patlabor REBOOT.
Apart from those, the Patlabor franchise also has live-action movies, novels, and video game adaptations.
