Reddit’s number one anime subreddit, r/Anime, revealed the winners of its annual Anime Awards for 2023. As was the case in previous years, the votes were divided between public votes and jury votes. The results differed in most cases, while in a few rare instances, the public and the jury came to an agreement. The voting was open to the public and everyone with a Reddit account was able to choose their favorites.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 in Best Action and Tengoku Daimakyo in Best Background Art categories were the only two times that both the public and the jury agreed on the winners. The nominees are all titles that aired in 2023. It’s worth noting that the Attack on Titan finale was nominated in the Best Movie category, as it aired in two parts.
