Rascal Does Not Dream of Santa Claus is getting a sequel movie titled Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dear Friend, premiering in 2026. The movie will be the conclusion to the series as it will cover the last volume of the light novel, which the anime is based on.
The announcement was made after Episode 13 of Rascal Does Not Dream of Santa Claus premiered in Japan. A teaser trailer was released.
Rascal Does Not Dream of Santa Claus premiered on July 5 with 13 episodes in total. CloverWorks animated the series. The studio also handled the animation for Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai TV anime (covering volumes 1-5), and three sequel movies, namely: They are Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dreaming Girl (volumes 6-7), Rascal Does Not Dream of a Sister Venturing Out (Volume 8), and Rascal Does Not Dream of a Knapsack Kid (Volume 9). The voice cast includes:

The Rascal Does Not Dream light novel series was written by Hajime Kamoshida, while Keji Mizoguchi drew the illustrations for it. ASCII Media Works began publishing it under their Dengeki Bunko imprint in April 2014, releasing a total of 15 volumes. The final volume was released on October 10, 2024, marking the end of the novel after 10 years of serialization.
