Rimuru is coming back! “That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 2” – Episode 1 premieres in less than 2 hours at 23:00 Japan Standard Time. Studio 8bit will produce the second season, just like the first one. There will be 2 cours, and the first of those will premiere today, while the second half will begin in July 2021. The show’s first season premiered back in October 2018 and finally, after almost two and a half years, we will see the continuation of our favorite slime’s adventure! Season 2 of “That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime” should have some more serious moments, although episode 1 might not start off with them right off the bat. I’m excited to watch it, though might need to re-watch season 1 to refresh my memory.

Lonely thirty-seven-year-old Satoru Mikami is stuck in a dead-end job, unhappy with his mundane life. But after dying at the hands of a robber, he awakens to a fresh start in a fantasy realm…as a slime monster! Besides the 2nd cour in July, the franchise will also get its spin-off “The Slime Diaries” in April this year! The synopsis for that goes:
Even in another world, lives aren’t always on the line. There’s plenty of work to be done, from feeding the community and forging the items the community needs; as well as plenty of play …and hijinks throughout! Join Rimuru and friends as they kick back and enjoy their daily lives.
