The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 3 opening was released on Monday featuring the theme song “SIN” by MADKID. Shingo Yamashita directed, storyboarded, and edited the opening. His recent works include both openings of the first season of Jujutsu Kaisen, the second opening of Ranking of Kings, and the opening for Chainsaw Man. MADKID returns to perform the opening theme for Rising of the Shield Hero Season 3 after performing all of the opening themes for both Season 1 and Season 2. This also makes it their third opening theme performance of the year, with the other two being for Level 1 Demon Lord and One Room Hero and Junji Ito Maniac: Japanese Tales of the Macabre.
Shingo Yamashita has made a name for himself when it comes to directing and storyboarding anime openings. With one of his first being opening 13 for Naruto Shippuden, his work has come to be a staple for openings. Other more recent works of his include the first opening for Urusei Yatsura (2022), which landed in our top 50 openings of 2022, and the second opening for Twin Star Exorcist.
Rising of the Shield Hero Shield Hero Season 3
Takao Abo directed Season 1 of the series at Kinema Citrus, which ran for a total of 25 episodes in 2019. Studio DR Movie helped co-produce Season 2 with Masato Jinbo as its director and ran for 13 episodes. Now the series is back with Hitoshi Haga directing the new season at Kinema Citrus alongside Keigo Koyanagi who is handling the script and series composition.
