The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 3 anime has revealed the episode 1 preview, along with the title, synopsis and staff members. The anime will premiere on October 6, and it will be part of Crunchyroll’s Fall 2023 lineup. Studio Kinema citrus is in charge of the animation, with Hitoshi Saga as the director. You can see the preview images for the first episode, titled “Underground Colosseum.”

Episode 1 Synopsis
After recovering the Spirit Tortoise energy, Naofumi tries to to buy all the Lurolona villagers who were forced into slavery. However, the slaves have been been bought up for one reason or another. Shobun heads for Zeltobul, the land of merchants and mercenaries.
MADKID is performing the opening theme “SIN” (featured in the trailer above), while Chiai Fujikawa is in charge of the ending theme song “Suki ni Natte wa Ikenai Riyu.” Watch the latest trailer:
Season 1 was animated by Kinema Citrus under Takao Abo’s direction, and it ran for 25 episodes from January to June 2019. Season 2 ran for 13 episodes from April to June 2022. DR Movie animated the sequel, while Masato Jinbo was the director. Crunchyroll is streaming the anime.
The Rising of the Shield Hero is a Japanese light novel series by Aneko Yusagi, with Seira Minami’s illustrations. Media Factory has been publishing it since 2013, as well as the manga adaptation by Aiya Kyu since 2014. One Peace Books licensed the original The Rising of the Shield Hero light novel series in English. The adaptation of the 3rd season will start at volume 10, and you can read the synopsis below:
Finishing the battle with Kyo, Naofumi and his friends return safely to their world. The queen of Melromarc wishes to reward Naofumi for saving the world from the Spirit Tortoise.
