The Romelia Senki (A History of the Romelia) series is getting an anime adaptation, as announced earlier today with the release of the manga adaptation’s fourth volume. Further details have not been revealed.
The Romelia Senki: Hakushaku Reijou, Maou wo Taoshita Ato mo Jinrui Yabasou dakara Guntai Soshikisuru (History of Romelia: Forming a Military Organization Because Humanity Still Looks in Danger After Defeating the Demon King) written by Ryo Ariyama, originally started out as a web novel, before getting picked up by Shogakukan and serialized in print under the Gagagaga Bunko imprint with Ryo Karima’s illustrations. The light novel has four volumes, the fifth is scheduled for September 18.
The same author and illustrator duo is also working on the manga adaptation, which features original character designs by Kodama. The manga is serialized online, on Mag Garden’s MAGCOMI website and on the Manga Doa app.
The plot follows Romelia, a countess who falls from grace after her fiancé, a prince, breaks off their engagement soon after his party successfully defeats the Demon King. Alone and without followers, Romelia is forced to make the best of her mysterious power which grants her good luck. Her first stop is her homeland, still overrun by monsters and with many still enslaved by the evil army. Romelia must gather people and get them to fight for her cause, all while navigating life without funds.
The Romelia Senki series surpassed 400,000 sold copies. To celebrate the milestone and the anime announcement, MAGCOMI is holding a lottery that will allow five people to win autographed copies of the manga’s latest volume. Users can enroll by following the MAGCOMI account on Twitter/X and retweeting the announcement.
