Rurouni Kenshin has released the preview images and trailer that introduces Megumi Takani (C.V. Saori Oonishi) for episode 8. The episode will air on August 24, 2023, and you can check out the trailer below:

The title of episode 8 is “Escape Beauty.” Along with Megumi Takani, Han’nya, Beshimi, Hyottoko, and Shikijo, Aoshi, and Kanryu will be also introduced. The synopsis revolves around the illegal production of opium, and Megumi connected to it.
Studio Liden Films is animating the Rurouni Kenshin (2023) series with Hideyo Yamamoto as the director. The anime premiered on July 6, 2023, and it currently has 7 episodes available. You can watch the series on Crunchyroll.
The anime is based on Nobuhiro Watsuki’s Rurouni Kenshin (popularly known as Samura X) manga series. Shueisha serialized it from 1994 20 1999 in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine and it had a total of 8 volumes in circulation. Viz Media published the original Rurouni Kenshin in English and the synopsis goes:
One hundred and forty years ago in Kyoto, with the coming of the American “Black Ships,” there arose a warrior who, felling men with his bloodstained blade, gained the name Hitokiri, manslayer! His killer blade helped close the turbulent Bakumatsu era and slashed open the progressive age known as Meiji. Then he vanished, and with the flow of years, became legend.
