Shangri-La Frontier Anime Gets New Visual for "Journeying Wolf, Be Ambitious" Chapter

The Shangri-La Frontier anime has received a new visual, hyping the upcoming Journeying Wolf, Be Ambitious chapter which begins with Episode 21. The visual depicts the Unique Monster, Lycagon, and was drawn by Shangri-La Frontier manga illustrator Ryosuke Fuji. Posted to X (formerly Twitter), the visual was teased: “Lycagon, a night raider floating in the darkness, has an overwhelming presence that even makes you feel intimidating.” Check it out below:

The visual’s release suggests that the next Unique Monster Sunraku and Co. faces comes via a rematch with Lycagon. Fans received a massive lore drop in the last episode, revealing that Wethermon the Tombguard was actually one of the more difficult monsters to defeat, with Ctarnidd expected to be the first to be defeated. Wethermon’s life and death were recently commemorated in a special video, which can be viewed below. The Shangri-La Frontier ending song, “Gajumaru ~Heaven in the Rain~” sung by ReoNa plays over emotional scenes from the anime:

Shangri-La Frontier is animated by C2C, with direction from Toshiyuki Kubooka, assistant direction by Hiroki Ikeshita, the screenplay by Kazuyuki Fudeyasu, and character design and chief animation direction by Ayumi Kurashima.
