The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 2 episode 7 preview video was released on the official KADOKAWAAnime Youtube channel on Monday—preview images were also released on the official site. After plenty of incredible moments last week, it looks like episode 7 will slow things down while also giving us some interesting surprises, including a new character!

Shield Hero Season 2 Takes a Drastic Leap Forward With Episode 6
Now that the Spirit Tortoise is finally defeated, the season will finally move on to its next chapter in the story. There are a few noticeable things from the preview, one of those being Raphtalia’s body going back to her younger self. While it’s just her back showing, it’s clear that’s what happened given Rishia and Naofumi’s reactions to her. And the answer for that lies in the preview—all of their levels fell back down to one. With a new character introduction and them in a new world, one has to wonder if the two are connected. But for any of those that caught it, before Naofumi jumped into the wormhole in episode 6, his shield gave him a warning that he could now enter a new world, but only under specific conditions.
Ichii Ippei (Kingdom, Quintessential Quintuplets) is directing the episode and will also be handling the storyboard. Kota Sera (episodes 2, 4, and 6) and Masahiro Suwa (episode 3) will both work as chief animation directors. Keigo Koyanagi will remain the scriptwriter.
