Season 2 of Shoshimin: How to Become Ordinary is coming in April 2025. The sequel was announced after the 10th and final episode of the anime which premiered in July. Studio Lapin Track animated the first season.
The sequel will cover the Shuki Gentei Kuri Kinton Jiken (3rd novel) and Toki Gentei Bonbon Chocolat Jiken (5th novel). New logos for the adaptations were revealed:
The anime is based on a novel series by Honobu Yonezawa, known for Hyouka series, published by Tokyo Sogensha. Manga adaptations of the first two novels were serialized in Monthly GFantasy magazine. The first manga (Shunki Gentei Ichigo Tart Jiken) featured art by Anko Manjuya while OmiOmI illustrated the second (Kaki Gentei Tropical Parfait Jiken). These two novels were also adapted in the first season of the TV anime.
Mamoru Kanbe directed the adaptation with Toshiya Ono on the series composition. Atsushi Saito was in charge of the character designs and Mayu Gushiken was credited as the chief animation director. Takahiro Obata composed the music. The main cast included:
- Hina Yomiya as Yuki Osanai
- Shuichiro Umeda as Jogoro Kobato
- Chika Anzai as Chisato Dojima
- Makoto Furukawa as Kengo Dojima
Crunchyroll is streaming the anime and describes the plot as:
Kobato decides to become an honest, humble citizen after enduring a bitter experience known as “wisdom work.” He forms a pact with Osanai, his classmate with the same goal, and they plan to enter high school leading quiet lives. But for some reason, inexplicable events and disasters keep happening around them. Will Kobato and Osanai ever manage to live ordinary, peaceful lives?
