Tatsuya Endo’s Spy x Family manga released the cover illustration for volume 10, which is scheduled to be released on October 4, 2022. The manga’s anime adaptation, animated by WIT STUDIO and CloverWorks’, is also continuing in October with the second cour.
Each Spy x Family manga volume cover so far has featured a designer chair, but this one does not. Instead, we can see Loid Forger as a child sitting on a pile of rubble with a gun on his lap.
The volume compiles chapters that depict how a little boy living in an ordinary peaceful life ends up reaching the point of becoming “Twilight”. A cheerful chapter about Anya Forger and Henry Henderson will be part of it.
“It seems volume 10’s cover has already come out,” the author updated his Twitter on September 19 and said: “It doesn’t have a chair, but I think I’ve made it fitting for the volume myself.” He also mentioned the upcoming anime: “[The volume] will be released on October 4, right after the anime’s 2nd cour begins. I’d appreciate it if many people could check it together with the anime. I’d like you to pick it if you are interested.“
Tatsuya Endo has been drawing the spy and family-themed Spy x Family manga in Shueisha’s online manga service Shonen Jump + since its launch on March 25, 2019. The manga has surpassed 25 million circulating copies as of August 2022. The WIT STUDIO and CloverWorks’ collaborative anime Spy x Family based on the manga began in April and ended its first cour on June 25 in Japan with the 12th episode. The second cour’s broadcast date is set for October 1, 2022.
Viz Media licensed the manga for English releases and describes the plot as:
Not one to depend on others, Twilight has his work cut out for him procuring both a wife and a child for his mission to infiltrate an elite private school. What he doesn’t know is that the wife he’s chosen is an assassin and the child he’s adopted is a telepath!
