Steins;Gate visual novel is celebrating its 15th anniversary today, and a special video teases a continuation of an unspecified format or release date. Steins;Gate was developed by 5pb. (now MAGES) and Nitroplus, and it was first released exactly 15 years ago on October 15, 2009. It is the second game in the Science Adventure series, with Chaos;Head being the first.

The special video features all the entries for the series, ending with the message “Thank you for your patronage over the past 15 years. STEINS;GATE will continue.” At the very end, the phone mysteriously rings before the video ends, again teasing a continuation.

In addition, their message in the video’s description goes:
Thanks to all of you who shared the feelings of Okabe and the others through playing the game, and to the many more who resonated with it following the anime adaptation, we’ve been able to spend 15 long years together.

In gratitude to everyone who has supported us thus far and to those who will observe this story in the future, STEINS;GATE continues to evolve. We look forward to your continued support.

Steins;Gate was first released for Xbox 360 in Japan in October 2009, while it was later ported to multiple platforms, including Windows, PlayStation, iOS, and Android. It was released in North America in 2014 by JAST USA and in Europe by PQube in 2015.

The Steins;Gate franchise also has a manga adaptation by Yomi Sarachi (2009–2013), an anime adaptation by White Fox (2011, 2018), and an animated film (2013). There are also numerous spin-off games, including My Darling’s Embrace (2011), Hen’i Kuukan no Octet (2011), Linear Bounded Phenogram (2013), and Steins;Gate 0 (2015).

A remake, Steins;Gate Elite, was released in 2019 with fully animated cutscenes from the anime. An 8-bit style bonus game was included with the Nintendo Switch version. A thematic sequel, Steins;??? is also in development, though it’s unclear if that’s what the continuation is referring to.
