The preview for episode 9 of Summer Time Rendering anime is here, a day before its Japanese premiere. The episode will air on Thursday, June 8, with Disney+ exclusively streaming it. The anime still hasn’t had its North America/Europe premiere, although the 8th episode premiered last week in Japan.
The official website describes the plot of the upcoming episode as:
A video file left on the cell phone that Ushio left behind shows the shadow of Ushio and Ushio together.
The two Ushios begin to talk about the events from the time they met to the time they recorded the video.
Ushio is perplexed by the shadow of Ushio, who does not doubt that she is the “real” one, but they soon begin to cooperate in their search for the truth behind the shadows. Ushio’s shadow regains all her memories and powers after seeing the video and tries to make Shinpei and his friends relive the time of Ushio’s death.
Summer Time Rendering website also revealed preview images for episode 9:
Summer Time Rendering is based on sci-fi, suspense-mystery manga by Yasuki Tanaka. Shounen Jump+ online magazine serialized it from 2017 to 2021. The anime will have 25 episodes, split into two cours. Studio OLM is animating the adaptation, under Ayumu Watanabe’s direction.
The manga is available on Shueisha’s MANGA Plus platform. The plot is described as:
Upon hearing of Ushio’s death, Shinpei returns to his hometown of Wakayama City on Hitogashima and reunites with his childhood friend’s family. The funeral goes smoothly, but under the surface something strange is brewing on the island. What mysteries await him on this secluded summer island?
