The new trailer features the opening theme song by ReoNa “GG”:
The main cast is returning:

- Kazuyuki Okitsu as M
- Chinatsu Akasaki as Miyu Shinohara/Fukaziroh
The first season aired in the spring of 2018 for a total of 12 episodes. The sequel was announced last July. The anime adapts Reki Kawahara and Keiichi Sigsawa’s Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online light novel (licensed by Yen Press in English). The light novel is currently ongoing under the Dengeki Bunko imprint.
A manga adaptation with art by Tadadi Tamori was serialized from 2015 to 2021 in ASCII MediaWorks’ Dengeki Maoh magazine. It was compiled in four volumes. Yen Press also licensed the manga and describes the plot as:
Karen Kohiruimaki always felt out of place in the real world. Due to her extreme height, she found it hard to make friends with other girls her age. Everything changes when she’s introduced to VR and Gun Gale Online. In GGO, Karen is free to play the cute, chibi avatar of her dreams! Can Karen find friendship in this bullet-ridden MMO…?
Crunchyroll is streaming the first of the anime, but it is region-locked.
