takt op. Destiny Episode 8: What It Means to Let Go

takt op. Destiny episode 8 is hands down, the best one so far. This week is packed with epic action scenes and emotional moments. The art never ceases to amaze me. No doubt, Takt and Destiny are a rare Conductor and Musicart pair. Their dynamic is charming and powerful, especially now that the Musicart is growing more and more “human.”

The episode begins with Takt’s glare of contempt at Schindler, the person in question of the mysterious D2 attack leading to Cosette’s death. Although Takt never lands his charged punch, it’s more than satisfying to see Schindler frozen in fear. Destiny also panics and worries about Takt’s injury so she retreats from the battle. Hell is surprisingly noble (or just insane?) in battle and doesn’t chase after them. Meanwhile overnight, Takt suffers from a fever and sees Cosette. It’s a hit right in the feels, plus the fact that he admits to Destiny of what Cosette meant to him. That the “person he could dedicate his music to is gone.”

It is clear that takt op. Destiny episode 8 highlights Destiny’s emotional growth. Destiny is caring so much for Takt that she’s saying things about her love for Takt’s piano, compositions, and her guilt for taking his life force. The next day, she goes into battle alone but is overpowered by Hell’s badass abilities. Thankfully, Takt, Lenny, and Titan arrive just in time. It amuses me that Takt and Destiny ignore the poor Schindler while they talk. Of course, an epic battle follows right after. The animation is superb as always! (Chef’s kiss!)

takt op. Destiny episode 8 is undeniably one bomb scene after another — Destiny’s energy blast, Hell’s discs, and lastly, Heaven’s appearance. She simply announces that Schindler has been stripped of his title for disobeying orders and that he “was never a Conductor.” Does that mean he was being played and there’s a bigger scheme? I honestly don’t care for the crazy man (who really thought he was a powerful hero? a scheming villain? pfft), but what I do care for is the fact that Heaven leaves without addressing Lenny’s suspicions. The silence more or less affirms his investigations …right? That means Symphonia is really into shady business…

Destiny’s character growth was the highlight of this episode. Additionally, Anna and Takt also work out to let go of Cosette, admit their hurt, and acknowledge Destiny for who she is. I absolutely love that they both call her by her name now. I am also so happy for Destiny. The hug at the end was a perfect and emotional way to close the show.

It’s true that this anime is not as intense or impactful as others were hoping for. In my opinion, however, this anime has been a good watch so far this season. I appreciate everything about it and truly enjoy it. takt op. Destiny episode 8, in particular, handled everyone’s emotional baggage in such a graceful way. I think the reason it hits us in the feels is that one time or another, we’ve all come across a painful loss at one point in our lives. There’s the journey of losing and finding yourself afterward, letting go and moving on… and then finding happiness again. It’s just like what Takt said — “Cosette … to let the music continue, I must keep moving forward.”

My eyes are sweating! Especially after seeing Destiny ( Yes, it’s not Cosette anymore) in the ending song. The original character designer LAM also posted a heartwarming illustration of Destiny for this week’s episode. Check it out on Twitter:
