Tensura: That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: ISEKAI Memories game revealed an animated trailer for its 3rd anniversary. The game developed by WFS and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment was released on October 28, 2021.
The game’s Japanese title is Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken: Mao to Ryu no Kenkoku-tan (That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: The Saga of How the Demon Lord and Dragon Founded a Nation). The new animated trailer features the song “Trinity” by STEREO DIVE FOUNDATION, Takuma Terashima, and MindaRyn. It was directed and storyboarded by Choi Inseung at studio PPURI.
Fuse writes the original Tensura light novel series, with illustration by Mitz Vah. The TV anime adapted the manga by Taiki Kawakami. Animated by studio 8bit, the first season began in October 2018 and aired until March 2019. The second season was released through 2 split cours in Winter 2021 and Summer 2021. The third one began in April and concluded with Episode 24 on September 27, 2024. Season 4 and a second movie were announced immediately after the finale. Crunchyroll streams the anime.
There is also an anime adaptation of the Slime Diaries: That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime spin-off manga by Shiba. It was also animated by 8bit and aired in 2021.
Besides the ISEKAI MEMORIES game and multiple other spin-off manga series, the console game That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime ISEKAI CHRONICLES recently released for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC via Steam.
At this year’s Anime Expo, we got a chance to speak with Riichiro Umetsu, editor of the Tensura manga and light novel, and Shinichiro Narita, the anime’s producer.
