The Ancient Magus’ Bride new OVA series, titled The Boy from the West and the Knight of the Blue Storm, received a new trailer. Studio Kafka is animating the series.

Three episodes will come bundled in with special editions of manga volumes. The first episode is coming with volume 16, which will come out on September 10th, 2021. Volumes 17 and 18 are coming in 2022 (March 10th and September 10th) and will feature episodes 2 and 3.
The Boy from the West and the Knight of the Blue Storm
The new OVA will follow Gabriel, a new character. Crunchyroll describes the plot as:
Gabriel is an ordinary boy who just moved from London and was bored with his surrounding, until one day, he saw a wisp of purple smoke from the window of his house. At that time, he hurriedly chased the smoke, looking for any kind of freedom and fun. Though they should not, the world of boys and wizards soon intersect… Meanwhile, in the middle of an uncommon regular day, where Elias is helping Chise prepare to head to the college, Spriggan arrives at the mansion on a seemingly creepy horse with a grim message, “the appearance of the ghost hunting corps. this time is very odd”.
The three-episode animation is the first major work by Studio Kafka. Season 1 of Ancient Magus’ Bride aired in 2017 and had 24 episodes. Previously, The Ancient Magus’ Bride: Those Awaiting a Star OVA served as an introduction to the series, and was airing from 2016 to 2017. It had 3 episodes. Both were animated by WIT Studio.
Cast from the original series is returning. In addition to the original cast, some new characters will be appearing. Gabriel and Mysterious Boy will be voiced by Hiromi Igarashi and Aoi Ichikawa respectively.
The Ancient Magus’ Bride
The story is based on a manga by Kore Yamazaki and follows Chise Hatori. Seven Seas, the English publisher for the series, describes the plot as:
Hatori Chise has lived a life full of neglect and abuse, devoid of anything resembling love. Far from the warmth of family, she has had her share of troubles and pitfalls. Just when all hope seems lost, a fateful encounter awaits her. When a man with the head of a beast, wielding strange powers, obtains her through a slave auction, Chise’s life will never be the same again. The man is a “magus,” a sorcerer of great power, who decides to free Chise from the bonds of captivity. The magus then makes a bold statement: Chise will become his apprentice–and his bride!
