Kessoku Band’s campaign to conquer Latin America continues! The Bocchi the Rock x Yamaha collab is heading to Argentina, Colombia, Costa Rica, Puerto Rico, and Peru! The collab event, which highlights Bocchi’s guitar, the Yamaha PACIFICA611V BTR LTD, debuted earlier this month at the Yamaha Insurgentes store in Mexico City. Earlier this week, several locations throughout Brazil welcomed the collab event.
Apart from showcasing the PACIFICA611V BTR LTD (Bocchi Pacifica), the collab will have in-store exclusive merchandise, life-size cutouts, and more. Participating stores will also stream the Bocchi the Rock anime, hopefully, converting some normies into weebs in the process.
The Latin American events are part of a wider Bocchi the Rock x Yamaha collab, the first of which birthed the PACIFICA611V BTR LTD (Bocchi Pacifica). This guitar is a real-life version of the guitar Bocchi uses in the anime. Yamaha took great care to replicate it down to the most minute detail perfectly. Currently, the Bocchi Pacifica has not entered a mass production phase and is limited to a handful of guitars. The guitar’s specs are
- Seymour Duncan Custom 5 TB-14 and SP90-1n pickups
- Graph Tech TUSQ nut and string trees
- Grover locking tuners
- Wilkinson VS50 vibrato bridge
- Alder body with gloss polyurethane top
- Maple neck with rosewood fingerboard with a satin finish
- Push-pull coil-split switch (for additional tonal options)
Bocchi the Rock Details
Aki Hamazi writes and illustrates the four-koma (four-panel) Bocchi the Rock manga. Hobunsha’s Manga Time Kirara Max debuted the manga as a guest publication in December 2017, and a serialization began in March 2018. Bocchi the Rock has been compiled into 8 tankobon volumes and is available in English thanks to Yen Press.
CloverWorks adapted the manga into a fall 2022 anime; a second season is currently in production.
