The Dangers in My Heart Tops Anime Charts for 3rd Consecutive Week

The Dangers in My Heart continued to dominate the Anime Corner charts, placing first for the third consecutive time in week 11 Spring 2023 anime polls. The series’ 11th episode featured Ichikawa’s incredible character progression, and showed him standing up for himself. Moreover, Yamada’s comforting words and actions and Ichikawa’s gift were heartwarming moments that further solidified the anime’s strong emotional core. With its simple yet amazing storytelling, The Dangers in My Heart has quickly become one of the most popular anime of the season. The season ended and a second one has already been announced.

Meanwhile, Oshi no Ko still maintains its second-place spot after a cute resurgence of the idol group B-Komachi.

The chart-topping episode 11 of The Dangers in My Heart was directed by Shige Fukase with the storyboard done by Juria Matsumura. Studio Shin-Ei Animation animated the first season with scripts written by Jukki Hanada. Masato Katsumata adapted the character designs from the manga while Kensuke Ushio composed the music.

HIDIVE and Bilibili are streaming the anime and the latter describes the series as follows:
Kyoutaro Ichikawa may have the appearance of a typical middle schooler, but his heart is filled with murderous fantasies. It is therefore not surprising that Anna Yamada, the class idol, is constantly on his thoughts as the person he wants to kill the most. He unintentionally starts a meeting with Yamada while reading alone in his favorite school library, and she shows up to sneakily feast on her favorite candies and sweets. Ichikawa learns how much of a ditz Yamada is via their conversations and is forced to cheer her on from the sidelines. Yamada herself can’t help but tease Ichikawa nonstop because of his agitated responses. The distant connection between the two deepens into something more than just library acquaintances as a result of a variety of touching daily interactions. Ichikawa might eventually understand that his violent fantasies have changed into something quite else.
