The Strongest Magician in the Demon Lord’s Army Was a Human anime has revealed a new key visual and trailer, along with a July premiere and the opening theme song. The opening song’s title is “Ctrl C” and it’s by KOHTA YAMAMOTO feat. Shun Ikegai. You can hear it in the new trailer.

I am honored to be in charge of the opening theme for the TV anime “The Strongest Magician of the Demon Army Was Human.” It’s truly a privilege to be involved alongside the background music! I’m excited to listen to ‘Ctrl C’ in the anime after watching the powerful PV! This song also marks the first release of my vocal project. I created ‘Ctrl C’ aiming for my own musical expression while imagining Ike’s strength and composed demeanor. I collaborated with Shun Ikegai for lyrics and vocals. Ikegai’s uniquely sexy vocals and lyrics that reflect the world of this work perfectly fit this rock number. I’m delighted to have worked with Ikegai on the first song of this vocal project. I hope many people will listen to ‘Ctrl C’ along with the anime!

Thank you for this opportunity. I received this offer at a time when I was experiencing a sense of alienation and anxiety through music. As the lyrics suggest, even if you perceive what is happening in society from the window, there are often times when you feel sluggish. However, there is no way to go against reincarnation, fate, or the flow of time, so you end up wondering what to do. How do you deal with situations that come without choices? I suppose that is the universality of this work. To me, who cannot be positive about dripping messages into the human forest, this collaboration has given me a challenge. Thank you, KOHTA-san. What can I say at the end of my repetition?
The official synopsis for the anime:
Ike is known as “”the strongest magician in the demon king’s army”” and is a single-handedly conquering fortresses. The way he mowed down the enemies with his immense magic is truly a “”monster”” that makes him feared by both allies and foes alike. However, he had a secret that he could not tell other demons. “”–I’m actually human.”” Aiming for a coexistence between demons and humans while the leader of demon’s army is hiding the fact that he is actually a human!?
