The Tatami Galaxy anime is getting a sequel, based on the Yojohan Time Machine Blues novel by Tomihiko Morimi and Ueda Makoto. Ueda Makoto is also writing the screenplay, while Shingo Natsume (One Punch Man, Sonny Boy) is directing.
Science SARU is animating the upcoming Yojohan Time Machine Blues anime. It’s worth noting that Masaki Yuasa, the director of The Tatami Galaxy, founded the studio. In addition, Yusuke Nakamura, who worked on The Night is Short, Walk On Girl (set in the same universe as The Tatami Galaxy), is doing the character designs.

The Tatami Galaxy
The Tatami Galaxy anime premiered on April 23, 2010, and ended on July 2 of the same year after 11 episodes. MADHOUSE animated it, while aforementioned Masaki Yuasa directed the series. Shingo Natsume, the director of the upcoming Yojohan Time Machine Blues, also worked in the anime, as an episode director. The anime was based on the 2004 novel The Tatami Galaxy (Yojouhan Shinwa Taikei), which was written by Tomihiko Morimi.
When a college dropout stops for a late-night bite at a mysterious ramen stand, he crosses paths with a self-proclaimed deity of matrimony. This bizarre meeting sends the young man hurtling through a horrifying flashback to his not-so-glorious college days when the influence of a cruel new friend turned him from a hopeless romantic into a mischievous “black cupid.”
