The Unwanted Undead Adventurer Season 2 TV anime has officially been announced at a special event in Japan. The event featured voice actors Ryota Suzuki (as protagonist Rentt Faina) and Ikumi Hasegawa (as Sheila Ibarss). A teaser visual was released to commemorate the announcement.
Interestingly, another undead adventurer is coming back as Skeleton Knight in Another World Season 2 was announced at the same event.
The Unwanted Undead Adventurer is a Japanese light novel series written by Yu Okano and illustrated by Jaian. It began on the Shosetsuka ni Naro website in September 2016, with Overlap acquiring it and publishing it from October 2017. There is also a manga adaptation by Haiji Nakasone.
The creators left comments regarding the Season 2 announcement.
Yu Okano: “Thank you for the confirmation of the second season! I was thrilled when the first season was announced, but now I’m even more excited to see Rentt’s adventures continue in anime form! I’ll be so happy if many people watch and enjoy it again!”
Haiji Nakasone: “Congratulations on the second season of the anime! Even though I’m responsible for the manga adaptation, I’m jumping with joy as if it’s my own achievement! I truly believe this is all thanks to everyone’s support! Thank you so much! I’m already looking forward to seeing characters like Nive and Myrias in action!”

Season 1 of the The Unwanted Undead Adventurer was animated by studio Connect and ran for 12 episodes from January 8 to March 25, 2024. It was directed by Noriaki Akitaya, with Yukie Sugawara in charge of the series composition, Takao Sano as the character designer, and Shun Narita as the music composer. The voice cast included:
