The Witch and the Beast anime revealed a new key visual on Thursday after the release of episode 5. The series is animated by studio Yokohama Animation Lab and is listed for 12 episodes. Crunchyroll is streaming new episodes of the anime every Thursday.

Takayuki Hamana (The Prince of Tennis) is directing The Witch and the Beast while Yuuichirou Momose (So I’m a Spider, So What?) is handling the series composition. Hiroya Iijima (Afro Samurai) is in charge of the character designs with Hirotsugu Kakoi (Inuyasha) working as the art director. Hanae Nakamura and Natsumi Tabuchi (The Quintessential Quintuplets) are composing the music.
The Witch and the Beast anime is based on the manga written and illustrated by Kousuke Satake. It originally began serialization in Young Magazine the 3rd until it was moved over to the seinen Monthly Young Magazine due to the former shutting down. The series went on a two-month hiatus at the start of 2023 due to Satake’s health and has since been extended with no news on its return. Chapter 58 is the latest chapter of the series which was released in November 2022.
Crunchyroll is streaming The Witch and the Beast and describes the series as such:
Guideau is a young woman who was cursed by a witch, forced to carry a dark secret. Ashaf is a tall, soft-spoken man with a coffin strapped to his back and secrets yet untold. Together they venture across the land on their quest for vengeance. Appearances can be deceiving, and each step could be their last. In a dark fantasy filled with adventure, will unlikely heroes find the vengeance they seek?
