The upcoming series The World Ends With You urgently reported that ALI won’t perform the series’ opening theme song. The band revealed on April 8, 2021, that their drummer had been arrested as a result of a scandal. The incident occurred at a particularly inconvenient time, as the series is set to premiere on April 9, 2021.
Originally, ALI would be performing the opening theme song of The World Ends With You series titled “Teenage City Riot” featuring R-指定. Meanwhile, ASCA will still be performing the ending theme song titled “Carpe Diem.”
Alien Liberty International Co., Ltd. reported that ALI’s band member, Kahadio Shiroi has been arrested for a scandal. In addition, Sony Music Labels Inc. requested the anime production committee of the series to suspend the use of the opening theme song performed by ALI. You can read ALI’s full statement below:
