Dengeki Bunko (Kadokawa) has announced that Kuji Furumiya’s romance light novel, Unnamed Memory –after the end-, will end with its eighth volume. Kadokawa will release the light novel’s eighth volume on December 17. The publisher also announced a December release for the Unnamed Memory Archives -chibi art works- artbook. Dengeki no Shin Bungei has serialized the light novel since its February 17, 2022, debut.
The concluding novel is the sequel to Furumiya’s Unnamed Memory.
Unnamed Memory follows Oscar Lyeth Increatos Loz Farsas and the witch Tinasha. As the crown prince of his country, Oscar’s future seems positively prosperous. But the prince faces an insurmountable challenge; a curse prevents him from continuing his lineage. Any woman who becomes pregnant with his child will die and take the child with her. However, Oscar constantly searches for a way to overcome his malady. That search takes him to the tower of Tinasha, “The Witch of Azure Moon.”
After defeating all her trials and gaining an audience with her, Oscar asks for her help lifting the curse. Unfortunately, he’s told that’s impossible. But there’s a workaround. If his wife has enough magical power, the curse won’t kill her. In that moment, Oscar does the only logical thing: he asks Tinasha to become his wife!
Furumiya originally self-published Unnamed Memory on Shosetsuka ni Naro in September 2012. ASCII Media Works (Kadokawa) acquired and published the series under their Dengeki no Shin Bungei with illustrations by Chibi. The original light novel consists of six volumes, which Kadokawa released between January 2019 and April 2021. An “extra volume” was released this year. Furumiya and Dengeki no Shin Bungei launched Unnamed Memory -after the end- in February 2022.
Studio ENGI adapted the original light novel into a two-season TV anime. Yoshiko Nakajima and Atsumi Tanezaki voiced the anime’s main duo: Oscar and Tinasha. Crunchyroll streams the anime.
