Wind Breaker Anime Gets First Character Trailer and Cast Member Reveal

The upcoming Wind Breaker 2024 anime debuted the first character trailer for its cast, revealing that the protagonist Haruka Sakura will be voiced by Yuma Uchida (Reo, Blue Lock). The news was announced via Wind Breaker‘s official X (formerly Twitter) on October 16, 2023. Starting today, further characters and the cast members voicing them will be revealed every day. Studio CloverWorks will animate the series. Check out the new character trailer below:

Satoru Nii’s Wind Breaker debuted in Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket in 2021 and has been collected into 13 volumes as of August 2023. The manga was among AnimeJapan 2022‘s most desired works to get an anime adaptation. While further animation on the cast and staff is unavailable since the anime was announced with a teaser visual in March, a ‘special program‘ revealing more information is due on October 22. Print copies of Wind Breaker by the North American licensor of the manga, Kodansha USA, are also expected this fall.

Kodansha USA describes the manga:
Haruka Sakura wants nothing to do with weaklings—he’s only interested in the strongest of the strong. He’s from Fuurin High School, a school of near-dropout degenerates known only for their brawling strength. And in a town known for its territorial disputes, Haruka’s got only one goal—become the hero his town deserves.
