Winter 2021 Anime Rankings – Week 01

The results for Winter 2021’s first weekly Anime Corner poll for anime rankings have arrived! We gathered data from more than 1,500 international anime fans to generate a list of fan-favourite episodes released during the first week of this season. As you can see below, “Re:Zero Season 2 Part 2” is off to a strong start, but is apparently facing a strong competition from “The Promised Neverland” and “The Quintessential Quintuplets Season 2”

Before proceeding, we would like to point out that the results shown in the rankings are based on the data of the sample selected. Therefore, it should not affect your decision to watch shows below the Top 10, as each show has its own distinct style, and everyone’s taste in anime is different.

• 8th place: “Suppose a Kid From the Last Dungeon Boonies Moved to a Starter Town” – 5.12% of the votes
• 9th place: “Beastars Season 2” – 4.99% of the votes
• 10th place: “Cells at Work! Code Black” – 4.34% of the votes
• 11th place: “Higurashi: When They Cry – Gou” – 2.59% of the votes
• 12th place: “Skate-Leading Stars” – 1.69% of the votes
• 13th place: “Hortensia Saga” – 1.36% of the votes
• 14th place: “Tenchi Souzou Design-bu” – 1.23% of the votes
• 15th place: “Soukou Musume Senki” – 1.1% of the votes
• 16th place: “Uma Musume: Pretty Derby Season 2” – 1.1% of the votes
• 17th place: “Gekidol” – 0.97% of the votes
• 18th place: “I★Chu: Halfway Through the Idol” – 0.97% of the votes
• 19th place: “Show by Rock!! Stars!!” – 0.91% of the votes

Not surprisingly, the sequels are ranked so high because of their hype from previous seasons. However, once again, we would like to point out that it should not make you look past the new series. Otherside Picnic, which is the #1 non-sequel anime in the above rankings, was ranked 27th in the Winter 2021 anticipation survey conducted by Anime Corner, but had a strong start thanks to its premises. It’s a psychological and horror series that’s available for weekly streaming on Funimation.
