The upcoming stand-alone Netflix anime film Words Bubble Up Like Soda Pop unveiled a special promotional video featuring an insert song. Taeko Onuki will be performing the insert song titled “YAMAZAKURA.” The film will be available to stream on Netflix on July 22, 2021.
Cast & Production
Hana Sugisaki will be voicing Smile, while Somegoro Ichikawa VIII voices Cherry. Kikuko Inoue, Koichi Yamadera, Megumi Han, and Natsuki Hanae will also star in the movie.
Studios Signal.MD (Mars Red) and Sublimation (Dragon’s Dogma) are co-producing Words Bubble Up Like Soda Pop. Sublimation is a CG company, also known for co-producing the hit anime film Your Name. The film is a part of the 10th-anniversary celebration project for the Flying Dog music label.
Kyohei Ishiguro (Your Lie in April) is directing the movie. Chief animation director, Yukiko Aikei (Accel World) is also listed as a character designer. Kensuke Ushio is composing the music, with Sato Dai on the script.
In addition, the 4-member Japanese rock band never young beach will be performing the movie’s theme song titled “Cider no You ni Kotoba ga Wakiagaru.”

After meeting one bright, sunny day, a shy boy who expresses himself through haiku and a bubbly but self-conscious girl share a brief, magical summer.
