After 14 years, Inuyasha and Kagome finally came out of the Black Pearl in episode 40 of Yashahime. Looking back in episode 38 of the series, Sesshomaru sealed Towa, Setsuna, and Moroha inside the Black Pearl, where they met Inuyasha and Kagome, who were imprisoned inside for 14 years.

In episode 39, Inuyasha thought of a way how to get out of his father’s tomb. It became a reality in this episode with the help of Towa. She summoned the heavenly sword, “Tenseiga”, just as Inuyasha instructed, and used it to open the gate that was being guarded by Mezu and Gozu. In the InuYasha series, Sesshomaru is the only one who can pass the gate to the border of the living and the dead. Gozu and Mezu only obey the one who wields the power of life and death. Since Sesshomaru wields the Tenseiga, which can revive the dead, Gozu and Mezu always bow before him. Now that Towa also has the Tenseiga, they also obey her.
Awaiting at the gate to the border of the living and the dead are Shippo and Takechiyo, who already predicted that Inuyasha and Kagome would come out. Of course, this is very emotional for Inuyasha and Kagome because they are finally back after 14 years. What’s more, they were also reunited with one of their comrades, Shippo. It’s fun to see that Shippo’s personality is still intact, even after 14 years. Inuyasha always bullied him and he always ran to Kagome, so they became really close to each other. We could say that Kagome was always babysitting Shippo. Despite that fact, Inuyasha and Shippo still care for each other since they’re in a team and they are close friends. In fact, even when Shippo told Inuyasha that he is not worried about him when they were reunited, he never stopped investigating their whereabouts and he is the one who insisted that he will wait for Inuyasha by the statue of Gozu and Mezu.
Well, now that Inuyasha and Kagome are back on Earth, they can now help Towa, Setsuna, and Moroha on fighting Kirinmaru. However, episode 40 of Yashahime didn’t give a hint that they will be helping them at all. There’s a possibility that the couple could be like Sesshomaru, only watching the journey from the shadows. Well, since Sesshomaru is still incapacitated because of his fight against Kirinmaru, Inuyasha is the only one who could help them. I personally think that Inuyasha is stronger than Sesshomaru despite being a half-demon since he was the one who cut Sesshomaru’s arm in the InuYasha series. He also wields the Tessaiga, the strongest demon sword with six different demonic powers. Inuyasha also defeated Naraku, who was a manifestation of demons in the past. But for now, Towa and Setsuna first need to settle some family matters, since Rin just recently escaped the silver-scale curse. Because of that, Towa and Setsuna finally met her, their mother. As for Inuyasha and Kagome, they can now spend time with Moroha, their daughter, and live like a family
Well, the battle is still not over, as the episode ended with a cliffhanger, where Towa fell down to the ground, and her eyes went red. It seems that we will be seeing a bigger battle in the future episodes of Yashahime. Are we finally going to see the reunion of all the members of the old generation? If you are also curious, stay tuned in the anime. Episode 41 will air on January 29, 2022, and you can watch it on Funimation.
