After a rather concerning update yesterday, the creator of Hunter x Hunter, Yoshihiro Togashi, shared thanks to the fans and said that he managed to successfully complete the color manuscript he mentioned. He also shared a new illustration, featuring Kurapika, Gon, Killua and Leorio. His message this time reads:
“Thanks to you all, I was able to submit the colored manuscript to the editor.
Your warm encouragement and kind words gave me strength. Thank you very much.
My back, however, has indeed worsened.”
In December of 2022, it was revealed that the Hunter x Hunter manga will no longer be serialized weekly. The last volume was released in November 2022, while Volume 38 releases today, September 4, in Japan.
Yoshihiro Togashi writes and illustrates the Hunter x Hunter manga. It began serialization in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump in March 1998. The manga has gone through frequent hiatuses due to his health issues. He is now posting the occasional updates on X/Twitter. VIZ Media licensed the series in English, and you can read the latest manga chapters for free on the MANGA Plus website.
Crunchyroll is streaming the anime, describing the story:
Gon, a young boy who lives on Whale Island, dreams of becoming a Hunter like his father, who left when Gon was still young.
