The previously announced You Were Experienced, I Was Not: Our Dating Story (KimiZero) anime revealed a new visual along with a trailer announcing an October 6 premiere date of the series. Additionally, the latest trailer features the anime’s ending theme song “Ai kotoba” by the rock band AliA.
Hideaki Ooba is directing the series in studio ENGI with Hiroko Fukuda writing the script. Yosuke Ito is the character designer, Kei Haneoka is composing the music, and Takeshi Takadera is in charge of the sound direction. The anime previously revealed a summer-themed visual featuring the characters Runa Shirakawa, Nikoru Yamana, and Akari Tanikita.
Maaya Uchida is performing the opening theme song “Love You Tender!” and the cast for the anime includes:

The anime is based on the Our Dating Story: The Experienced You and The Inexperienced Me (Keiken Zumi na Kimi to, Keiken Zero na Ore ga, Otsukiai suru Hanashi) light novel written by Makiko Nagaoka and illustrated by Magako. Fujimi Shobo’s Fujimi Fantasia Bunko has been serializing the series since September 2020. Square Enix’s Gangan Online web service is publishing the manga adaptation with art by Noyama Carpaccio.
Manga Up! licensed the manga in English describing the plot as:
Introverted high-school student Ryuto is forced to confess to his crush, the most popular and beautiful girl in school, Luna. Surprisingly enough, she replies, “Then, how about we go out? I’m single right now anyhow.” Then right after school, she invites Ryuto to her room…?!
Despite being completely different from one another, including the amount of experience with love and types of friends they have, the two of them are about to embark on a relationship full of firsts!
