The Zombie no Afureta Sekai de Ore Dake ga Osowarenai light novel series is getting an anime adaptation, as announced by the official X (Twitter) page for AT-X channel, which will broadcast the series. No details about the anime’s cast and staff have been released as of this writing.
The Zombie no Afureta Sekai de Ore Dake ga Osowarenai light novel series, which translates to I Am the Only One Who Is Not Attacked in the World Filled With Zombies, is written by Rokuro Uraji and illustrated by Saburo. It was first published in Shosetsuka ni Naro’s Nocturne Novels male adult section in January 2013. Frontier Works acquired the title and has been serializing the title since February 2016 under their Nox Novels imprint. A manga adaptation with art by Chihiro Masuda has been serialized online via Frontier Works’ Comic Ragchew website since June 2021.
The series follows the story of Yuusuke, an office worker who dislikes interacting with people and prefers to do his job alone and in silence. When the company he works for suddenly goes bankrupt, he loses his job, and with that, all his motivation disappears, and he becomes a complete shut-in. One day, he decides to leave his apartment after a week-long video game binge, a mysterious man attacks him and bites his arm. Though Yuusuke manages to escape back to his room, he comes down with a fever and becomes bedridden for several days. When he finally gets well, he then realizes that the world around him changed as zombies have emerged all around him. But then he realizes something: “Why am I the only one the zombies don’t attack?” The story progresses with Yuusuke taking advantage of this new situation.
