22/7’s "Rock wa Shinanai" Scheduled for February 26 Release

22/7’s newest single, “Rock wa Shinanai” (Rock Never Dies), is scheduled for a physical release on February 26, 2025. The single’s titular song serves as the ending theme for the ongoing anime, Even given the Worthless “Appraiser” Class, I’m Actually the Strongest. As part of the single’s promotion, 22/7 previously released two videos.

A choreography video directed by Katsuaki Ishii featuring the real-life versions of 22/7 was uploaded to their official YouTube channel on January 10. A follow-up CGI video directed by Fumiko Kumagai was released on Valentine’s Day.

Yasushi Akimoto produced the single. Four different versions of the physical release will be available. The digital version of the new single is already streaming on several music sites.

22/7 Background

Billed as “idols who cross dimensions,” 22/7 is a Japanese idol group signed to Sony Music Records. The multimedia franchise started in 2017 from a collaboration by Aniplex, Yasushi Akimoto, and Sony Music Records.

The franchise boasts a Winter 2020 anime by A-1 Pictures and a manga adaptation 22/7+α by Rent-a-Girlfriend author Reiji Miyajima (story) and Nao Sakai (illustrations). A short lived rhythm game, 22/7 Ongaku no Jikan, ran from May 27, 2020 to December 22, 2021. 22/7 members include:
