REVIEW: 86 Eighty-Six‘s first season ends with a perfect finale
86 Eighty-Six premiered on April 11, 2021, and ended the first cour on June 20, 2021. The second part of the season began airing later that year on October 3, 2021, and, after a couple of production delays, finally ended on March 19, 2022.

The 86 anime is based on the light novel written by Asato Asato with illustrations by Shirabi. Yen Press is publishing the series in English and has released the first 13 volumes with no set release date for the latest one.
All episodes of 86 Eighty-Six are currently available on Crunchyroll. The streaming platform describes the series as:
Called “Juggernaut,” these are the unmanned combat drones developed by the Republic of San Magnolia in answer to the attacks by the autonomous unmanned drones of the neighboring Empire of Giad, the “Legion”. But they’re only unmanned in name. In reality, they are piloted by the Eighty-sixers—those considered to be less than human and treated as mere tools. Determined to achieve his own mysterious ends, Shin, the captain of Spearhead Squadron, which is comprised of Eighty-sixers, continues to fight a hopeless war on a battlefield where only death awaits him.
