The official Twitter account of the “The Rising of the Shield Hero” franchise announced a new mobile game. It is titled “The Rising of the SHIELD HERO RERISE” and pre-registration has begun. It’s a smartphone role playing game, and for now only 1 of the campaign prizes has been unlocked. More rewards will come with future registration goals. The visual for the game was also released:

The Rising of the Shield Hero is a Japanese dark fantasy isekai light novel series written by Aneko Yusagi. It follows Naofumi as he gets transferred to another world and forms a party after a rough experience. Besides him, there are 3 other “heroes”, but it’s really simple to work together.
The series also received an anime adaptation back in 2019. It had 25 episodes and ended after Lecia (from the Bow Hero’s party) joined Naofumi. Apparently just until she clears the false accusations, but she might stay, right? Shortly after it ended, seasons 2 and 3 were announced, with the second scheduled for 2021.
The Shield Hero mobile game will be interesting, though doesn’t mean much to many fans without an international release. Hopefully that comes soon too!
