Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End previewed the images for episode 28, the finale of the season on Tuesday. The episode titled “It Would Be Embarrassing When We Met Again” is scheduled to premiere on Friday, March 22. A character visual of Frieren was released yesterday ahead of the finale.
The anime initially premiered on September 29. 2023 and returned with its second cour on January 5, 2024. Studio Madhouse (A Place Further Than The Universe) is animating the series with Keiichiro Saito (Bocchi the Rock!) as director. Tomohiro Suzuki (One Punch Man) is acting as the scriptwriter, Evan Call (Violet Evergarden) as the music composer, and Reiko Nagasawa (takt op. Destiny) as the character designer. The cast includes:

The anime is based on the manga written by Kanehito Yamada and illustrated by Tsukasa Abe. It has been serialized in Shogakukan’s shonen manga magazine Weekly Shonen Sunday since April 2020. A prequel novel titled Shosetsu Soso no Frieren ~Zenso~ written by Mei Hachimoku will be released on April 17. The novel will feature 5 original stories, revolving around Frieren, Fern, Stark, Kanne, Lawine, and Aura. The manga’s 13th volume will be released at the same time as the prequel novel.

After the party of heroes defeated the Demon King, they restored peace to the land and returned to lives of solitude. Generations pass, and the elven mage Frieren comes face to face with humanity’s mortality. She takes on a new apprentice and promises to fulfill old friends’ dying wishes. Can an elven mind make peace with the nature of life and death? Frieren embarks on her quest to find out.
