Train to the End of the World anime delayed its final, 12th, episode by a week to June 24 due to production issues. Instead of the finale, a recap will be broadcast on June 17. EMT Squared is animating the original anime series, which is streaming on Crunchyroll.
The anime premiered on April 1 and has since piqued the interest of many fans, including the legendary Hideo Kojima.
Tsutomu Mizushima (Shirobako, Another) is directing the Shumatsu Train Doko e Iku? anime, with Asako Nishida as the character designer and chief animation director. Michiko Yokote is in charge of the series composition. Namo is credited with original character designs. Miho Tsujibayashi is composing the music. The cast includes:
- Chika Anzai as Shizuru Chikura
- Azumi Waki as Nadeshiko Hoshi
- Erisa Kuon as Reimi Kuga
- Hina Kino as Akira Shinonome
The anime follows Shizuru and her friends as they find themselves on an abandoned train, which suddenly starts and takes them to a new town. Together they embark on a journey to discover what lies beyond the train tracks. The title can be translated as Where Does This Train Stop?. The anime was announced in 2022 and it revealed the first trailer in July of last year. Kadokawa is producing the original series.
Train to the End of the World anime website is currently unavailable due to a cyber attack that Kadokawa’s services have been under since last week.
